The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is located in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania. It is most easily accessible from EWR, Newark Liberty International Airport near New York City. JFK in New York and PHL in Philadelphia are reasonable alternatives as is LVI near Allentown, PA. The best means of travel to the event center is by car. Rental cars are available at all airports.
The event center will be at PEEC, the Pocono Environmental Education Center. It is located just off US 209 between Interstate 80 and Interstate 84.

PARKING & BUSES to the EVENTS
Parking will be at a premium the entire weekend. People staying at PEEC may park at PEEC at any time. There is room near most cabins for one or two cars; maps will be provided showing parking locations for additional cars of people staying in larger cabins. Please note that on Sunday, for safety and fairness reasons, no vehicles on the PEEC campus may be moved between 7:00am and the conclusion of the relay (approximately 1pm). There will be a designated parking area on the PEEC campus from which vehicles will be allowed to leave before 1pm; people staying at PEEC who need to leave before 1pm must move their cars to this area by 7:00am.
People not staying at PEEC will not be allowed to park at PEEC except during the model event on Thursday, the Friday evening dinner and social events and the Saturday evening banquet and social events.
The remote parking for all three competition days will be at Dingman's Campground. It is located on US 209 near the intersection of PA 739.
Thursday:
- Registration and packet pick-up will be in the main building at PEEC.
- There will be limited parking at PEEC for those picking up registration packets (and not staying at PEEC). Please follow the directions of parking attendants.
- Parking for the model event will be at PEEC. Please follow the directions of parking attendants.
Friday:
- Registration and packet pick-up on Friday will be at Dingman's Campground.
- Child Care will be available at PEEC as there are no appropriate facilities at Dingmans Campground or the finish arena. Parents dropping off children for child care should drive to PEEC before going to Dingman's Campground.
- Parking for all competitors will be at Dingman's Campground. Shuttle buses will run from Dingman's Campground (not from PEEC) to the drop off and pick up point for access to the start/finish arena. The bus ride is approximately 10 minutes. There is a 10 minute walk to the finish arena (~ 600m) from the bus dropoff location. Starts are a 10-15 minute walk from the finish arena (less from the bus dropoff point - a map will be posted in the final event booklet).
- Starts will be between 11am and 2pm. Please plan your travel times accordingly.
- Parking for dinner, the awards ceremony and the evening social activities for those not staying at PEEC will be at PEEC.
Saturday:
- Registration and packet pick-up will be in the main building at PEEC. There will be NO parking at PEEC except for those staying at PEEC.
- Child care will be at PEEC.
- Parking for those not staying at PEEC will again be at Dingman's Campground. Shuttle buses will run from Dingman's Campground to PEEC and from PEEC to the start/finish arena. The bus ride from Dingman's Campground to PEEC is aproximately 15 minutes and from PEEC to the start/finish arena another 15 minutes. The bus dropoff is at the finish arena.
- Starts are ~200 meters from the finish.
- Starts will be between 10am and 1pm.
- A more detailed timetable for the shuttle buses will be posted closer to the event.
- Parking for the banquet, the awards ceremony, the ice cream social and the evening social activities for those not staying at PEEC will be at PEEC.
Sunday:
- Registration and packet pick-up will be in the main building at PEEC. There will be NO parking at PEEC except for those staying at PEEC.
- Child Care will be at PEEC.
- Parking for those not staying at PEEC will again be at Dingman's Campground. Shuttle buses will run from Dingman's Campground to PEEC. The bus ride from Dingman's Campground to PEEC is aproximately 15 minutes. The bus dropoff is close to the start.
- IMPORTANT: Competitors in the WRE classes, M21 and W21, will be required to enter a quarantine area by 7:30am. Starts for the WRE classes begin at 8am. A detailed bus schedule will be posted closer to the event. Note that competitors may be dropped off at PEEC but vehicles will not be allowed to park.
- Starts for non-WRE classes begin at 8:30. Non-WRE competitors may spectate the sprint before their start but are required to stay on the main PEEC campus road or in the designated spectating areas near the finish. The woods and trails around the PEEC campus are strictly out-of-bounds all weekend.
- Vehicles on the PEEC campus may NOT be moved between 7:00am and the conclusion of the relay (~1pm). Anyone staying at PEEC that needs to leave before this time will need to move their vehicle to a designated area by 7:00am.
