Social Activities
Details have been finalized for several social activities including the Friday evening beer tasting and the Saturday afternoon ice cream social.

Housing at PEEC is going fast.
There are still spaces left for those wanted to stay at PEEC. However, the housing is going fast so get your requests in now to make sure to get a spot. Parking will be at a premium all weekend, and only those staying at PEEC are guaranteed a parking spot there.

Free Entries to Top Ranked Athletes in each NA Country
DVOA is pleased to announce that it will extend free entry to the top ranked –as determined by the IOF World Rankings of September 1, 2012 – male and female athlete of each North American country. That is, if the top ranked male and female athletes choose to attend NAOC 2012, and register by October 1, 2012 their entry fee will be waived (or refunded if they have already paid).

Rules for the BK Cup and Future Champions Cup have been finalized by an international committee of Peter Gagarin, Wil Smith, Eric Kemp, Janet Porter and Peter Goodwin. The rules are posted on the Registration page.

We are planning to have live results uploads to the web at the September 18, 2011 training event. If you are unable to make it to the event, check out the results. As soon as the first runner has finished, there will be a results link on the Training Event page.

Training Event
DVOA will be hosting a local event on the old Stuckey Pond map. The courses will be on a small section of the map - the only mapped area that is not under an embargo.

Patrick Nuss Winner of Logo Contest
The winner of the logo contest was announced at the DVOA winter meeting. Patrick Nuss, a member of Orienteer Kansas (OK) and Cascade Orienteering Club (COC) designed the logo seen at the top of the webpage. We will work with Patrick to incorporate the logo into our advertising, awards and other materials.

Adrian Zissos to be IOF Advent Advisor
Adrian Zissos, a member of the Canadian Orienteering club FWOC, has agreed to be the IOF Advent Advisor for NAOC 2012. The event staff is looking forward to working closely with Adrian to assure the highest caliber event.

NAOC 2012 will be North American Regional Championship
The IOF Council approved NAOC 2012 as the North American Regional Championship in the IOF Competition structure. OUSA VP Competition Peter Goodwin submitted the bid. This designation means the M/F-21+ categories are automatically awarded WRE status.
